We are pleased to formally announce the establishment of the McLaren Heart & Vascular Institute (MHVI), our systemwide initiative to unify McLaren subsidiary hospitals’ cardiology, vascular, and cardiothoracic services.
Interventional cardiologist Samer Y. Kazziha, MD, FACP, FACC, FSCAI, FCCP, FSVMB, will
lead this effort as the program’s Chief Medical Director.
Through the collaboration developed within MHVI by our employed and independent providers and staff, our team throughout the state will be in the position to expand and advance the therapies they provide to their communities and ensure our patients receive the best possible care and experience. This new Center of Excellence for cardiac and vascular care will expand access to new technologies, clinical research, and a statewide network of care centers that put cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment, and prevention as its’ primary mission.
McLaren has always believed that high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate care must be close to home. Together the institute will also implement clinical practice guidelines, performance benchmarks, and further support the partnerships that exist across our facilities. McLaren Heart & Vascular Institute will also coordinate with Graduate Medical Education to assist in the training and development of future specialists in heart and vascular specialties.
