Brittany Sharp is a Nurse Practitioner with Cardiovascular Consultants treating patients in the hospital and office setting.
Brittany began her nursing career over ten years ago after graduating from Michigan State University’s nursing program. Her first nursing position was in the emergency department at Detroit Receiving Hospital. After two years at one of the busiest level 1 trauma centers in the state, she transferred to Royal Oak Beaumont’s Neurosurgical intensive care unit, where she cared for brain injuries and other level 1 trauma patients. Brittany then earned a Master’s Degree from Oakland University while working in the non-invasive cardiology unity at Troy Beaumont. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Brittany extended her proficiency while working for nearly five years at a family practice. Here, she was able to get a solid background in preventative medicine and managing acute and chronic conditions. Brittany fell in love with cardiac prevention as a family practitioner, including cholesterol management and cardiac disease prevention. She saw patients across the life span, including infants and children. Her passion is to educate patients and families regarding preventative strategies and management of comorbid conditions to mitigate cardiovascular complications and disease progression throughout the lifespan. She believes that building strong and trusting patient relationships is the foundation of quality health care.
