Dr. Madar Abed, a board certified cardiologist since 2003, decided to take his skills to the next level in 2012 and train to become an electrophysiologist. One year later he graduated the program at University of Arkansas for Medical Science. He brought back with him many new skills that he has excelled at such as AICD implants, cardiac ablations, and laser lead extractions. Since then he has become the director of the EP lab at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan.
His great sense of humor has made him popular with everyone he comes into contact with. He enjoys improving the lives of his patients and actively participates in ongoing research studies to stay up to date with the best technology and devices available.
Fun facts: Dr. Abed was the first physician in Genesee Country to implant the SICD device. He is also bilingual speaking English, Arabic, and Portuguese.
